On Sunday, Nov. 21, my husband Jeff preached at Tyner UMC in my place--which counts as a blessing even before I start counting them! He reminded us that we can start celebrating Thanksgiving even before the official holiday of Thanksgiving. During his message, he challenged the members of the congregation to write down five things they were thankful for in the bulletin. I hadn't even gotten my pencil out when he called time, so I thought I would write about 5 things I am thankful for about Tyner UMC without anyone timing me. #1 I am grateful for a congregation where we can start worship praising our "Good God Almighty" with David Crowder and end with a Gaither song reminding us that "We are so Blessed!"#3 I am grateful for those who helped prepare the church for Advent.#4 I am grateful for the diversity of individual gifts & skills people have as we prepare for Christmas in Tyner--and their willingness to share them
